Portumna Castle and Gardens are hosting a Plein Air Event on Sunday 28th August 2022. Artists of all calibres 16 years and older are invited to bring easel, art material and blank canvas (to be stamped at reception) to Portumna, where you can enjoy a relaxing day in the company of fellow artists. Choose a scene to depict from the semi-fortified Jacobean mansion, ladies’ garden or the 17th Century walled garden. All participating artists have the option to exhibit their work in our gallery until 11th September 2022. The public are invited to vote on which they consider to be the best, over a two week period culminating with a prize awarded to the winner. There is also a prize for best on the day. Castle opens at 10am and submissions accepted until 4.30pm.
