An Evening of Spanish Folk Music
Carlos Beceiro (cittern/guitar/hurdy gurdy player) and Jaime Muñoz (Clarinet, accordion, flutes) are founding and long-standing members of La Musgaña, one of Spain’s most acclaimed folk groups. Formed in 1986, La Musgaña has become renowned for bringing the traditional music of Castilla y León to international audiences, enriched with Atlantic and Mediterranean influences. Their distinctive sound blends traditional instruments with modern arrangements, earning them awards, multiple recordings, and worldwide tours.
Spanish-duo Beceiro and Muñoz have been central to the band’s evolution and continuity, contributing to every recording and project. Despite their global reputation, appearances in Ireland are rare—their last performance here was in 2019, when they joined fellow musicians and poets in celebrating the 80th anniversary of Spain’s national poet, Federico García Lorca.
On this special night, Beceiro and Muñoz will be joined by Irish duo Cormac Breatnach (whistles) and Martin Dunlea (guitar), enriching the concert with a dynamic cross-cultural spirit.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to experience the meeting of Spanish and Irish traditions in one unforgettable performance, featuring one of Ireland’s finest duos.
