In this talk I celebrate the life, creativity and generosity of Angela Jupe. I talk about her achievements in Bellefield, her love of plants, her extraordinary bequest to the RHSI and the future of the garden with a special emphasis on snowdrops and spring planting.
Paul Smyth- Plantsman
Paul is a gardener, author, and plantsman with a passion for plants and sharing the craft of gardening. He trained in SETU where he completed a placement with Angela Jupe in Bellefield in 2013. Afterwards he spent a number of years at Crug Farm Plants in North Wales a mecca for new, unusual and rare plants. In 2016 and 17 this knowledge was put to test by joining a plant hunting expedition to the North of Vietnam. During lockdown he joined Diarmuid Gavin doing nightly broadcasts which lead to a podcast, book and tv series. His latest role has seen him come full circle helping with the transition of RHSI Bellefield from private garden to a centre of learning, people and plants. Bellefield is undergoing some exciting changes as the development of the garden begins in earnest.
