Join us for this adult workshop to construct and plant up your own kokedama with a variety of indoor household favourites and some shamrock to add some seasonal flair.
Kokedama is a ball of soil, covered with moss on which an ornamental plant grows.
The idea has its origins in Japan and is a very popular planting style used in Japanese homes and gardens.
Sometimes called poor man’s bonsai, kokedama comprises of wet soil formed into a ball.
The plant is set into the ball and the ball covered in moss.
The structure is fixed using nylon wire or string with the string or wire some times used to suspend the kokedama in the air.
Kokedama is ideal for planting indoor or outdoor plants and recommended for plants that require medium to full shade in order to maintain the vibrant colour of the moss.
