Join Philip Quinn, Sculptor and Stone Mason, for a drop-in talk and demonstration of stone carving at The Main Guard on Friday 22nd August, between 12 noon and 2pm. Philip will be chatting to visitors about the methods used in creating the beautiful stone work which can be seen on The Main Guard - time-honoured methods which are still used today. Philip will have samples of the types of stone used and also the type of tools which would have been used - the styles of which have changed very little over the centuries. Visitors are very welcome to stop for a quick chat with Philip, or to stay longer and get an idea of the work which would have gone into creating our wonderful built heritage.
