A guide is speaking to a tour group

From 1604 to 1690, James Fort played a pivotal role in the history of Kinsale. Designed to both intimidate and protect the town, James Fort suffered neglect in times of peace and intense wartime sieges.
During its short but exciting history numerous soldiers, adventurers and pirates marched through its gates. Hear their stories come to life on this special guided tour during Heritage week 2026.
