Dún Chonchúir
Situated on the highest point of Inis Meáin is the oval cashel, Dún Chonchúir or Dun Conor. There were different levels making up this large stone fort, with a defensive inner wall at over 8m wide in sections, and an outer wall that ran around all but the west side of the fort.
Originally, over 14,000 tonnes of stone would have been used to build the inner wall alone, though the site has been restored in recent years.
Two beehive huts originally stood just outside the walls of the fort.
