An evening of original music with Josh Johnston and Clara Rose
Two Irish musicians with long histories of performing original music - both their own and in other bands - will join forces and create a quiet storm in the beautiful surroundings of Rathfarnham Castle.
Dublin pianist, singer and songwriter Josh Johnston has had a 25 year career recording 6 albums of his own (and more in collaboration with others) and working on stage and record with Kíla, Roesy, SJ McArdle, Noelie McDonnell (Whileaways) and others. With an evocative piano and compositional style that takes in folk, blues, jazz as well and rock and pop, his music has been featured and playlisted on national and local radio, and media, in particular his recent album Reasons To Fly which was Marty Whelan’s album of the week (RTE Lyric FM) when it was released.
For well over a decade, Clara Rose has captivated audiences with her stunning voice and original music that blends rockin' blues with rootsy folk. Having independently released her third live album, 'Live, LIVE, Love' to critical acclaim, Clara has graced national and international stages with her original folk, roots and powerhouse blues music. Armed with her acoustic guitar, Clara has shared stages with Celtic legends like Horslips, Henry McCullough, The Waterboys, and Eleanor McEvoy. Her performances are nothing short of mesmerizing. She was a key part of the stage show, 'Ladies in the Blues' playing hit shows at Cork Jazz Festival and Glastonbury as well as nationwide tours.
Clara Rose & Josh will perform in a round robin setting giving them both the opportunity to participate in each other’s songs. They will be joined by Daragh Slacke on guitar.
