Azure tours involve a slow looking art presentation where we guide the participants to observe, describe and interpret the artworks with a view to developing a personal connection.

It is an activity designed to be a normal activity for both the participant and their carer

to share. Depending on the time allocated, the Azure tour can include a further activity such as a virtual tour of a heritage site or an art or story telling session.

As the OPW want to support a programme of events to celebrate Bealtaine and positive ageing; Glendalough Guides will host an AZURE Workshop including an art appreciation workshop, a tour of the site and a flower arranging activity to celebrate the month of May. Glendalough Guides will reach out to Alzeimers Association of Ireland to advertise the event to suitable participants.
