Baroque and Traditional Music at the Castle
Members of Sligo Baroque Orchestra present works from the 17th and early 18th centuries. A varied program of short instrumental tasters including Purcell, Geminiani, Pasquali and more composers of the era, played on harpsichord, bassoon, recorder and strings.June McCormack (flute) and Michael Rooney (harp)

Both Brian O’Rourke and Robert Parke had harpists in their employ, so it is very fitting to welcome Michael and June to join us during heritage week! Michael was announced as the TG4 Composer of the Year 2017, and in 2011 composed the De Cuellar Suite, another link to our castle where Brian O’Rourke sheltered Francisco De Cuellar and some of his men in 1588.
