As part of Heritage Week, Barryscourt Castle will be hosting a free Bat Talk and Walk on Wednesday the 20^th of August from 1-2pm. The talk will be delivered by Dr. Darragh Murphy and Simon Furney from Flynn Furney Environmental Consultants.

The talk will take approximately 1 hour, consisting of a brief tour around the grounds of the castle to explore the ecology and various adaptations that allow bats to fly, navigate and feed; and a presentation on the bat monitoring equipment and artificial roosting structures that have been employed in the conservation of the bats at the castle.
