Cormac Breatnach (whistles) and Martin Dunlea (guitar)
Cormac Breatnach is an innovative and influential whistle player rooted in traditional Irish music. As well as releasing seminal albums with his group Deiseal, Cormac has recorded extensively with musicians such as Dónal Lunny, Máire Breatnach and Steve Cooney, and songwriters such as Thom Moore, Sonny Condell, Pierce Turner and Elvis Costello. His playing features on the orginal Riverdance Track as well as on various movie soundtracks including The Secret of Roan Inish and The War of the Buttons.
Martin Dunlea has played in folk, rock and blues bands in Ireland, UK and the USA. He feaures on Mick Kinsella's album Harmonica and his guitar playing can also be heard on Gavin Friday's and Maurice Seezer's orginal soundtrack to the film Disco Pigs. Martin has also released a solo album When the Present and the Past Align.
Cormac and Martin met in late 1998, and in July 2000 they released their first duet album entitled Music for Whistle and Guitar to critical acclaim.
