The Education Team is delighted to offer a Specialised History Talk to coincide with the Festival of History! Join Tour Guide Caolan Maher on his talk that explores the decolonisation of Dublin Castle and Irish civilisation before the English arrived!

Long before the English conquest, Ireland was home to one of medieval Europe’s most advanced and vibrant cultures. This engaging one-hour talk reclaims that legacy – exploring Ireland’s rich traditions in law, literacy, renewable energy, metallurgy, and political life.
Join us at Dublin Castle as we challenge colonial myths through the lens of art, language, and archaeology. Learn about the druids, the ogham alphabet, the true meaning of civilisation, and the sophisticated world of the Irish high kings – hidden in plain sight within the very walls of Saint Patrick’s Hall.
This talk is free of charge.

Booking is essential, as places are limited! Booking is by email only.
