To celebrate Easter Ross Castle is delighted to host a wildflower-themed Easter Hunt based in the grounds around Ross between April 2 and April 6.
This is a free event and no pre-booking is required. Bring your detective skills, a notebook, pencil and lots of enthusiasm to find the hidden eggs, some of which will have a letter printed on the back. Re-arrange the letters to find the special Flower name. Bring the answer to the anagram back to Reception and receive your reward. The prizes will be little bags of wildflower seeds . We will be handing out small bags containing a mix of 29 Native Irish Wildflower annual and perennial seed species. Birdsfoot Trefoil, Cornflower, Corn Marigold, Corncockle, Chamomile, Poppy, Devil’s Bit Scabious, Field Scabious, Honesty, Lady’s Bedstraw, Lesser Knapweed, Meadow Buttercup, Meadow Vetchling, Mullein, Ox Eye Daisy, Plantain, Purple Loosestrife, Ragged Robin, Red Campion, Red Clover, Scentless Mayweed, Selfheal, Sorrel, St. John’s Wort, Tufted Vetch, Wild Carrot, Wild Marjoram, Yarrow, Yellow Rattle & A Sprinkle of Joy.
