Dates
20/07/2024 - 28/07/2024
2:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Location
Royal Hospital Kilmainham
The three cemeteries at Royal Hospital Kilmainham are tied to its use as a nursing and retirement home for predominantly Irish veterans of the British Armed Forces in Ireland and as a place where the local communities dotted around Kilmainham could bury their loved ones.
During this tour, we will be traversing 1,500 years of history. Telling stories that exemplify the Hospital's military, medical, social and cultural history whilst also looking at how local communities would utilise the space. Sometimes for good, sometimes for nefarious reasons.
Please note that due to the ground being uneven and grassy, those with mobility issues may not find it fully accessible.
