Join OPW Guide Ruairí Falvey for an illustrated talk on this often misunderstood period in Irish maritime history. From the O'Malley's to the O'Driscoll's this talk will explore how Gaelic medieval piracy was different to later versions of the practice. Ruairí shall examine what the lives of individuals like Gráinne Mhaol, 'The Pirate Queen', actually looked like and the important coastal locations associated with these clans.
This is a free admission event.
No pre-booking required but limited to 30 people seated, so please arrive early if you are interested in attending – first come first served basis.
The talk shall take place in the Gunpowder Magazine at Charles Fort.
