Lecture taking place as part of Dublin Festival of History
The Custom House is an iconic 18th century masterpiece in the heart of Dublin City. For over 200 years it has stood sentinel over the River Liffey, overlooking the changing of a city. It is known not only for its turbulent history but also its architectural beauty.
The Custom House Visitor Centre and the Casino Marino are delighted to coordinate a talk together on the shared architecture between these two unique buildings.
Learn about William Chambers’ influential designs, and how it inspired the next generation of architects, like James Gandon, to create works of art set in stone.
Note: This talk will take place in the Custom House Visitor Centre on 28 September but will also take place in the Casino Marino on 6 October.
