As part of our Education Programme, we're delighted to have the experience of visual artist and printmaker Caoimhe Dalton to draw upon this March!
During this session, artist Caoimhe Dalton will demonstrate the steps involved in the creation of a mezzotint. Mezzotint is a 17th century engraving technique that allows for the creation of prints with soft gradations of tone and rich velvety blacks. You'll find wonderful examples of mezzotints in the 'Neglected Genius Thomas Frye' exhibition, which is currently on show in the State Apartment Galleries.
The session will comprise a demonstration of the mezzotint process in the Education Room, followed by FREE access to the 'Neglected Genius Thomas Frye' exhibition in the State Apartment Galleries.
Booking is essential as places are limited. Booking is by email only at dublincastleeducation@opw.ie
