On each of these days there will be tours at 10:00am, 2:00pm and 4:00pm.

This specialized architecture tour of The Custom House begins in the main reception area on the ground floor, before moving into rooms where our guide will talk about the architect James Gandon's architecture style and his architectural achievements. It will then move into rooms showing off up close photos of all the sculpture adorning the building, and a detailed description by our guide of who sculpted what, and the features of all the individual sculpture.
The tour then goes upstairs for a look at the only room inside the Custom House not destroyed by a fire during Ireland's War of Independence. The guide will fill participants in on all of the architectural features evident in this room and all of the sculpture adorning the walls.
Back downstairs then to learn about the two reconstructions and renovations that took place in the 1920s and the 1980s to bring the Custom House back to its former glory.
The tour then ends at the reception.

Tours will take place on Friday 17th October 2025, Saturday 18th October 2025 and Sunday 19th October 2025.
On each of these days there will be tours at 10:00am, 2:00pm and 4:00pm.

Open House themselves will be dealing with bookings for this event. As soon as they open bookings the link will be shared here.

Wheelchair access can be arranged for the tours on Friday 17th October by emailing customhousevc@opw.ie in advance.

Unfortunately there is no wheelchair access avaialble for the tours on Saturday 18th October or Sunday 19th October.
