Gardening is a foundational skill and one that was practiced by Scoil Éanna during Patrick Pearse's time as headmaster. Scoil Eanna’s head Gardener, Micheál Mac Ruaidhrí taught the boys practical gardening with horticulture and the produce grown was sold to help fund the school.
