As part of The Five Lamps Arts Festival 2025, we are delighted to welcome Sightseers by James Hanley RHA: works on paper at the Casino at Marino.
Drawings & prints of statues, reflecting journeys parallel to the Earl of Charlemont's Grand Tour. A selection of drawings, sketches and prints of statues and monuments, this show reflects the output of a parallel journey by @jameshanleyrha to that of the man for whom the Casino was originally designed.
In a neatly satisfying thought, the Earl of Charlemont may have himself seen some of the same statues during his Grand Tour that James Hanley saw on his travels, and used in this work.
