Late on the night of the 3rd of February 1905, an elite group of men gathered in St Patrick's Hall, Dublin Castle. Dermot Bourke, the 7th Earl of Mayo, donned his celestial blue silk mantle and his jewelled badges, to take the oath of the most Illustrious Order of St Patrick. Today, traces of this heraldic order can still be seen throughout the State Apartments.

Join Tour Guide Stephanie to relive this moment through the painting of Casimir Markiewicz, and learn more about the powerful men who called themselves the Knights of St Patrick!
