Irish National War Memorial Gardens

Long shot of a pathway within the memorial gardens leading up to a garden temple, framed by bare trees on either side of the path

The Irish National War Memorial Gardens at Islandbridge were designed by Sir. Edwin Lutyens to commemorate the 49,400 Irish people who lost their lives between the years 1914-1918 in the First World War.

This guided walking tour will provide a history of the gardens, access to the four book rooms which are dedicated to artefacts of the First World War, and moments of peaceful reflection in the rose gardens.

First come, first served - meeting point is inside the gate to the gardens, beside the car park.
