Inishkeel Island
Inishkeel Island is the location of early medieval stone carvings on the site of an early church.
A monastery was founded here by St. Connell in the late 6th century.
Today, there are remains of two 12th century churches: St. Connell’s Church and St. Mary’s Church.
There are important cross slabs on the Island dating from the 8th and 9th centuries.
