Ardoginna House, McKenna's Castle is a striking ruined country house overlooking the Atlantic coast on the left on the road to Goat Island in Ardmore. Originally dating from the 17th century and extensively remodelled in the Gothic Revival style during the 18th and 19th centuries, it is known for its dramatic battlemented towers and picturesque cliff-top setting. Once home to the Coghlan and McKenna families, the estate later briefly housed an Irish-language college before falling into ruin. Today, Ardoginna House is valued for its architectural heritage and is also the subject of local folklore, with several enduring ghost stories adding to its mystique.
