We have a series of events for Biodiversity Week at JFK Arboretum, please see below for full details on: Mandala Day at JFK Arboretum; Behind the Scenes Tour; Meadows & Bees at JFK Arboretum and Rhododendron Planting Workshop.

1. Mandala Day at JFK Arboretum.

Sunday 15th May at 12-1pm.    Free Event.

Join our guides & take part in making a forest mandala & learn about making patterns in nature. Outdoor event suitable for children, appropriate footwear/clothing required. Meet outside visitor centre.

2. Behind the Scenes Tour at JFK Arboretum.

Wednesday 18th May 12 – 1pm.    Free Event.   (Adults & Children )

Join Arborist Dan Goulbourne & Horticulturalists Ray Higginbotham & Gary Mentanko on this Fascination of Plants Day for a tour of plant collections including discussions on conservation plant, health & phenology. Outdoor event, appropriate footwear/clothing required. Meet outside visitor centre.

3. Meadows & Bees at JFK Arboretum.

Friday 20th May 12-1pm.       Free Event. ( Adults & Children )

On this World Bee Day, join Head Gardener Kevin Naughton to learn about the introduction of wildflower meadows and their importance to pollinators. Outdoor event, appropriate footwear/clothing required. Meet outside visitor centre.

4. Rhododendron Planting Workshop at JFK Arboretum.

Saturday 21st May 12-1pm.     Free Event.    Booking Essential at www.livingearth.ie. Spaces limited.

This event is suitable for children, join the guides and learn about Rhododendron potting .You will be able to bring home your potted Rhododendron. Outdoor event, suitable footwear/clothing required. Meet outside visitor centre.
