Location
Castletown House and Parklands
nrityā nazākhat is an original Kathak production by rāas featuring four dancers and a live Hindustani classical musician (tabla). The performance explores nazākhat—subtlety, grace and emotional nuance—through intricate footwork, live music and dialogue between dancers and musicians. Structured across seven short acts, the work moves from expressive storytelling into increasingly virtuosic rhythmic exchanges, culminating in a high-energy finale. It has been conceived as a site-responsive performance, where the architecture of Castletown House becomes an active part of the experience, creating a dialogue between heritage, movement and music.
For Culture Night, this event will take place on the Steps of Castletown House as the sun begins to set. The House will give a beautiful back drop to this wonderful performance of dance and music. This performance will be for 30 minutes and is free. People are welcome to bring a picnic blanket to sit on our lawn and watch or just stand and be mesmerised by the performance.
There will be no formal seating. The event is free, but please book your ticket via Eventbrite.
