A young man plays a guitar

Sligo native Stephen O’Dowd is of the fourth generation of a renowned musical family with deep roots in Irish traditional music. Drawing inspiration from folk legends like Thom Moore, Planxty, his father Seamie and Ye Vagabonds, Stephen weaves mythical stories, vivid landscapes, and evocative characters into his music. This multi-instrumental performance combines folk and origins music with voice, guitars, concertina, harmonica and double bass in a blend of Irish traditional heritage and contemporary folk influences. Stephen is accompanied by Brian Questa, an accomplished Irish-American double bassist with an eclectic background in classical, jazz, contemporary and folk.
