All Week:

Biodiversity Art Exhibition in the Vicar’s Choral.

Exhibition of photographs by our guide John of biodiversity in the local area on display in the Vicar’s Choral throughout the week. Also on exhibit will be artwork dealing with biodiversity and heritage by our guides Mary and Aislinn.

 

All Week:

Social media posts throughout the week looking at biodiversity and the Rock of Cashel with a special emphasis on the birds and bats that nest here. Also we will have a look at biodiversity in the medieval period.

Saturday 13th August, 12pm and 1pm.

Tour of the Graveyard at the Rock of Cashel.

While we are used to hearing about the Kings and Archbishops of Cashel, what about the town’s people? Join our guides Jim and John as they guide you through the graveyard at the Rock of Cashel and tell stories of the people of Cashel. This is a free event to kick off Heritage Week.

Thursday 18th August, 11am to 4pm.

Claíomh Living History Group

Claíomh Living History Group will present a 1640’s Irish Confederate Wars living history demonstration and pop up museum. Pop up museum of artefacts and informative talks by Dave Swift of Claíomh about the material culture of the period including swords, Irish and European clothing and dress accessories, contemporary firearms with accoutrements, pole-arms, armour and domestic items – the latter including glassware, ceramics and contemporary numismatics.

Biodiversity in and around the Rock of Cashel

A guided tour by Jimmy Duggan about biodiversity in and around the Rock of Cashel. Jimmy Duggan has been active in wetlands projects for many years and will lead a guided tour about biodiversity and the Rock of Cashel.
