Join us for National Heritage Week 2026 on Sunday August 16th on Scattery Island where Labasheeda historian Stephen McDonagh and former Scattery Island guide will be leading a walk to the early 19th century Napoleonic Gun Battery located near the island's working lighthouse and explaining about the history of this impressive fortification. Also on the day, our OPW guides will lead tours of the 6th century monastic settlement founded by Saint Senan. Please note this is a 4.5 hour stay on island..
