Come join us for a tour around the grounds of Ross Castle as you hear about the transformation of the castle from the medieval home of the Gaelic O' Donoghue's to an English military barracks and now a world-famous tourist site.

We will explore this history through pictures and the stories of some of the many people who would have lived at Ross Castle over the years; from barrack soldiers to castle caretakers.

This is a free event as part of Heritage Week 2025. The tour will be fully outdoors so please wear appropriate clothing for the weather on the day. The duration will be approximately one hour and will involve walking along some uneven terrain. No restrictions on numbers attending and no prebooking required. Arrive at the designated meeting point a few minutes before the start of the walk.
There will be two guided walks on the day.
