This Heritage Week, join OPW guide Noreen Brosnan at Ross Castle for a free tour exploring some of the less well known stories from its past: starting with its beginnings as a family home for the O’Donoghue’s and later the Browne family, its transformation into an English barracks in the late 1600s and its development as a tourist attraction from the 1830s onwards.
This is a free tour as part of Heritage Week but please note that this event will be fully outdoors so dress accordingly. The tour will run on Sunday 16th & Sunday 23rd August at 2pm from the Yew tree in the Ross Castle courtyard and will take approximately 1 hour. Pre-booking is not required
