Sketching and Drawing Workshop. Be inspired by the ruined beauty of Old Mellifont Abbey, Irelands first Cistercian monastery, with 2 themed Outdoor Art Sessions. These Plein Air drawing and mixed media art sessions are facilitated by local artist Susan Farrelly, Abbey Art Studios. Susan has been keeping art journals since 1987 and has lots of practical, creative techniques and tips to share. Pack your hardback sketchbook and a picnic lunch for this free fun and observational drawing experience at Old Mellifont Abbey. There is no right or wrong way to approach drawing outdoors so these sessions are suitable for beginners or advanced artists, accessible tuition catering for all levels of learning. Individual tuition and group activities will guide you through your day.

No easels required, just your hardback notebook or sketchbook. Please feel free to bring any lightweight art materials of your choice, a small selection of mixed media materials will be available on the day.
