If you've been on a tour of Dublin Castle, you've probably spotted the impressive paintings on the ceiling of St Patrick's Hall! These panels were commissioned by the Viceroy Lord Buckingham in 1788, and completed by the Italian artist Vincenzo Waldré over a period between 1788 and 1802.

During this talk, our Tour Guide Daragh will explore the life and work of Vincenzo Waldre with a special emphasis on the three paintings of St Patrick's Hall: St Patrick Converting the Irish to Christianity, King Henry II Receiving the Submission of the Irish Chieftains and King George III Flanked by Britannia and Hibernia.
