12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Location
Scattery Island Monastic Site and Visitor Centre
Former Scattery Island guide, storyteller and crafter Ruth Marshall will show us the route from raw fleece to fine yarn and will be happy to tell us about the plant-roots and flowers that she uses to produce beautiful natural dye colours.
She might even tell a yarn [story] or two...remember that one about the princess who fell asleep for 100 years when she pricked her finger on a spindle?
This event will take place in the recently renovated Brennan family cottage in the village street and is a 3 hour stay on Scattery Island.
Also on the day, our OPW guides will lead tours of the 6th century monastic settlement founded by Saint Senan.
For bookings please visit www.scatteryislandtours.com or call 085-2505514 and ferry boat charge applies.
