A History of Ireland in 700 Monuments

The Office of Public Works cares for and maintains over 700 historical monuments across Ireland

From the preserved ruins of medieval abbeys, to ancient stone forts set among the stunning Irish landscape there are a number of these monuments whose rich history remains unknown to many.

As well as displaying stunning imagery of these Monuments, mostly provided by the National Monuments Service's photographic archive, this project aims to bring to light the fascinating stories, the archaeological features, and the historical connections that all of these heritage sites hold within them.
