Breeny More Stone Circle
This stone circle and boulder burial site is 1km south-east of Kealkill village, where another stone circle can be found - Kealkill stone circle.
The Breeny More stone circle is represented by two entrance stones and one axial stone and is aligned north-east to south-west, capturing the winter and summer solstices. Stone circles typically date from the Late Neolithic to the Early Bronze age.
The burial site within the stone circle consists of four boulder burials and are Mid to Late Bronze Age in date. These boulder burials are only found in Cork and Kerry, with 84 examples in total found. No human remains have been excavated yet from these megalith structures.
