Ballycomisk Ringfort

Ballycomisk Ringforts, located 4.2 km southeast of Cashel in County Tipperary, whisper tales of antiquity. These three ringforts, forming a National Monument, reveal glimpses into the past through their ancient foundations and fields.

The largest rath, measuring 66 meters (218 feet) in diameter, stands as a testament to the Bronze or Iron Age inhabitants who once inhabited this site. To the south, two more raths exist, although they have been largely obliterated by modern farming practices. Despite their weathered appearance, these ringforts weave a thread connecting us to the generations who called this place home, their hearths ablaze and laughter echoing across the landscape.
